Achilles Tendinopathy


Plantar Fasciitis - the most common cause of heel pain. Occurring mainly in runners and sometimes associated with a biomechanical abnormality, such as excessive pronation or supination of the foot, pain is worse in the morning and improves during the day.

Fat Pad Syndrome or Contusion - also known as a 'bruised heel'. May develop acutely from a fall onto the heels or chronically from excessive heel strike with poor heel cushioning. 

Calcaneal Stress Fractures - resulting from overuse. They require X-ray and treatment as the fracture heals.
